KP was born and raised in Houston, TX, but has also lived in 8 other states around the country and naturally loves meeting new people and hearing their stories. As far as her education, it's never ending...  Her first degree was in Psychology, but she went back to school to become an RN when she was inspired by the compassionate nurses who helped her through some complications with both her pregnancies. Those 2 sons are now happily living the dream as stay-at-home college students. :) After working in the Texas Medical Center for many years, KP returned to graduate school to become a licensed and double board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner by both the AANP and ANCC. She has a plethora of continuing education and certificates including Foundational Functional Medicine, Advanced Gut Health, Thyroid Optimization, Advanced Clinical Peptide Treatment, Vitamin Supplementation and Nutrition, Functional Approach to Psychiatric Treatment, and many more. Her work background includes, but is not limited to, areas of neurology, rheumatology, GI integrative health, clinical research, leadership, family medicine, addiction medicine, behavioral health, as well as infusion therapy of biologics for autoimmune conditions, ketamine therapy for mental health, and vitamins for overall well-being. Like many of us, she's had her fair share of challenges in life as well as personal health issues. She is grateful for the struggles though, as it has pushed her to advocate for herself, for others, and to discover an alternative and holistic approach to healthcare. She feels passionate about bringing this journey to functional and integrative medicine, with sprinkles of happiness and sunshine, into this world. And she wants you to know, you are heard and supported.
